Drama in just the 1st act!

In Act 1 of A Doll’s House I feel it helped me learn a lot about Nora. She seems to be so helpless around her husband but as soon as he’s not there she turns in to this strong woman. She’s so scared to be who she is around her husband but, when Krogstad comes she is a very strong women and says what she needs to say. Even though she is really open to krogstad I think she is in reality she is extremely scared of him and what he can do to her family. When Torvald treats Nora like a little kid it makes me think what kind of relationship they really have. It seems more like a daughter father relationship then a husband wife one.  I think that Torvald should see Nora as the women she is. I think that Nora needs to have told Torvald the real story of why he shouldn’t have fired Krogstad if he knew the truth he might have had a different view in firing him but Nora is still so scared.
Nora keeps the story interesting don’t you think? She makes most of the drama that is going on. I think there is going to be something else that she is going to. Maybe she will tell Torvald about the money after she pays it off if she does how will he end up reacting to that? When Nora was talking about not being around her kids it made me think if she was going to end up doing something that is going to change how her whole family is. I think she might change a lot. She is  very open when her friend comes to see her but mostly everything that she said to her didn’t seem to be the truth and she was just putting on an act don’t you think?

what is going to happen in A Doll's House?

Hi, Bloggers! My name is Melyssa and I am in Ms. Santos’ 5th period English class. I really liked when we sat in the circle and read Lord of the Flies. Now we are moving on to a new play A Doll’s House. I went and research about the story and the author. The author is Henrik Ibsen who was born in Norway. Henrik always dreamed about becoming an artist it was probably because his mother was very big in arts and theater. To learn how to write he went to an irregular school for university candidates. Most of the stories that where written by Henrik Ibsen were written for and about the middle class also life in the suburbs and small towns. One of his Plays is A Doll’s House.
The background on A Doll’s House is that it takes place in the 19th century during this time European women were very dependable on their husbands just how the main character is. He made his play a modern tragedy allowing the women to gain her independents from her husband. I think that from the title A Doll’s House that the play is probably about a family who seems to have this perfect life and they have no problems just like a regular doll house. It’s perfect everything is made just right but I think in the play everything might seem perfect on the outside but on the inside there is probably something different going on. Something that no one else knows about and they try to hide it until something happens and everyone else finds out what is really going on inside the perfect house. I can’t wait to go read it and find out what really happens.
